I worked on Lewisham’s first ever festival of creative ageing – Age Against the Machine. In my role as Engagement Producer, I worked with local communities, artists, and older people’s groups to make sure the festival included their ideas, voices, and interests. I managed a £30,000 project grants budget, which we tried to make as accessible as possible by providing support to apply, and working with groups to make their ideas a reality. The festival itself included more than 70 events over three weeks, and was a riot of intergenerational inspiration.
I continue to work as an Engagement Producer for The Albany, who co-produced the festival.
