In 2021 the theme for the festival was Empathy, and I collaborated with artist Victoria Fifield to create poems and masks which explored different emotions. We invited young people to come on an aventure to Empathy Island, where they discovered many new creatures – from Joy to Frustrutration to Love – and described these creatures in their poems.

In 2023, the theme was Kindness, and I was lucky enough to be paired with Cora Sehgal Cuthbert. We had a great time making zines with young people and their families, thinking about what kinds of kindness we might show to ourselves, each other and the Earth.
